Restocking at Green Turtle Cay; Friendly Rays at Manjack/Nunjack

As Green Turtle Cay is one of the last heavily settled cays before our departure, we decided to spend the morning in the settlement getting a few provisions where we met a Canadian couple from ‘Desperado II’ Phil and Michelle, who new Abaco well and gave us some tips on places to visit.  They were from Georgian Bay and decided to cruise and set sail only two weeks later.  It took us two to three months getting us and the boat ready for our cruise.

We then returned to Green Turtle Cay Marina to top off the diesel and water and saw Desperado II fill up just behind us. We  then sailed to the northwest anchorage on Manjack Cay as winds were out to the south east. We dinghied ashore and waded into the shallows where about six sting rays would swim right up to you hoping for a morsel of food. Others were feeding the rays and so we just enjoyed them and later realized, the rays approach anyone who wanders into the shallows -food or no food.
