Nassau and Paradise Island - Wed. March 2nd

As we were required to get a Covid test on our 5th day of being in the Bahamas (which would be March 3rd for us), we headed to Nassau where we had arranged to take this Covid test. Our sail from Bird Cay to Nassau was wonderful, as winds were NE about 12 knots and we were sailing with both the main and our new jib. We were granted permission by the harbor control to enter Nassau Harbor, and we passed five cruise ships in port, dropping anchor in Nassau harbor around 5:00 pm.  We quickly moved to get ashore before the closing time at the marina to pay our landing fee and then walked across Harry Belafonte memorial bridge to Paradise Island for a dinner at Olives Restaurant at the Atlantis Casino. We sat outside overlooking the marina where high end mega-yachts were tied up and afterwards, wandered through to the casino to the gigantic aquarium that is part of the Atlantis Casino. This aquarium is about 20 feet deep and probably 30 yards long and 30 feet across with hundreds of fish in it and is illuminated at night so we could view all the fish as we walked through the "lost city of Atlantis". It was definitely worth the price of admission (free).
